Terry was born in London, England of parents from Cork and Galway in Ireland.

His family emigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia when Terry was two years old.

Terry grew up loving music of all kinds and he began performing music at an early age.

Like most country and folk music singers, Terry has performed many jobs through the years to pay the bills, but has always thought of himself as a musician first and foremost.

Following graduation from high school, Terry spent five years as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Newfoundland

After that job he attended Memorial University in St. John's Newfoundland paying his way through college by singing in a local band.

Terry performs country music, Celtic music and music for children, ages 10 and under and has performed for more than half a million children in 8 of Canada's 10 provinces.
